Ziv Gil is the Director of Head and Neck Center at the Holy Family Hospital, Nazareth, Israel. He is also the Director of the Cancer Research Laboratories. Prior to this he was a professor at Tel Aviv Medical Center and the Chair of Head and Neck Surgery Department at Rambam Healthcare Campus.

Professor Gil is a graduate of Ben-Gurion University where he earned his MD and PhD (summa cum laude) in Biophysics and Neuroscience. Subsequently, he was a Post Doc research fellow in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Miami's School of Medicine, and a clinical fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical and at the New York's Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Gil founded several entrepreneurial ventures and companies involving artificial intelligence (AI) for molecular diagnosis of cancer and clinical decision making; and minimally invasive cold plasma energy for treatment of bladder cancer. Professor Gil serves on the editorial boards of multiple research agencies and scientific journals, including The Lancet Oncology, Head and Neck Surgery, the Skull Base Journal, and Cells. His works have been listed several times best articles lists published by the Faculty of 1000 (F1000).
